Dice Throne’s 2026 update: what players need to know

Here are the changes that matter when you choose a hero, prepare for a tournament, or use DiceSlayer’s tools.

Tournament changes start in January 2027

Buh Bye returns to Organized Play in the January 2027 Age. Timing and priority changes are planned for that same Age; a detailed rules breakdown is still to come. This announcement does not make those changes effective today.

For the Matchup Lab, that means the existing model stays in place. We have not recalculated rankings for unpublished rules. Check your event’s current rules before preparing your deck.

Vanguard is released; our data still needs a retail check

Dice Throne reports that Vanguard fulfillment is complete. Our Druid, Duelist, Forgemaster, and Sun Elf pages still use preview-source data. Their “data review” labels refer to our verification work, not an upcoming product release.

DiceSlayer currently covers 44 heroes. The publisher now describes a roster of 45+; our directory and tier list are not a complete current roster. New heroes need verified boards, dice, and rules before they can have useful matchup estimates here.

Collection changes

Future accessory packs will cost $19.99 MSRP and contain sleeves, acrylic tokens, and a mini-sculpt. Randomizer cards move into hero decks; promos will come through community participation instead of being sold. Future Mythics will be tied to game experiences rather than individual heroes. Existing Mythics still work.

Digital and Nexus are ahead

Dice Throne Digital is in Alpha, with an early-2027 launch target. Nexus is the next Kickstarter campaign; this update does not supply a launch date.
